PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

COURSES TAUGHT

I taught a wide range of undergraduate mathematics courses for mathematics majors and other STEM majors. I also built and taught a course in statistical programming in R, and also a soft graduate-level course in Fourier analysis for in-service high school teachers.

My teaching experience includes substantial asynchronous course work. My course in Fourier analysis received Quality Matters certification.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My original research was in Fourier analysis and abstract harmonic analysis. I also was active in the scholarship of teaching and learning, and in expository work in mathematics. I also analyzed biophysical diagnostic data as a consultant and collaborator in the development of an infant feeding monitor.

SERVICE

My service record at IU Southeast was extensive. This included many years as coordinator or co-coordinator of the mathematics program, membership or chair of important committees such as tenure and promotion committees, and the academic policies committee (which approved new courses, new programs, or changes in these). My service also included system (multi-campus) committees, including steering committees for collaborative online degree programs in applied statistics and actuarial science.
